What is an original drawing and why choose one?

An original is a creation made directly by the artist’s hand. It is the initial copy of an artwork.

While an original can be reproduced (for example, as prints or postcards), its true value lies in its personal and unique aspect. Adopting an original means discovering the story of a drawing: you can observe the traces of the artist’s pencil strokes, brushstrokes, and eraser marks. The drawing is alive, textured, and reflects light differently than a print. In essence, it carries all those small “imperfections” that make it a one-of-a-kind item… Unlike reproductions, you won’t find two identical ones!

Opting for an original is not only an aesthetic choice, but also an investment in a collector’s item.

I would like a different print than the ones offered in the shop. Is it possible?

Where do you print your illustrations?

Our illustrations are printed on demand by our local (and very nice) printer in Switzerland.

Can I order custom illustrations?

 Yes, you can! After searching for a way to offer more personalized illustrations while allowing some freedom to Meg, we’ve come up with a solution. In the “original art” category, you have the option to choose a custom illustration based on a set of criteria. In other words, you can choose what you’d like to appear on your drawing from the provided options. All that’s left to do is place your order!

It takes approximately 15 days to create your drawing.

Why is there a minimum order requirement?

We are committed to offering you high-quality products that remain affordable for all budgets. Since our profit margins are slim on certain products, sending your package below a certain amount would not always be profitable for us. Moreover, it would not allow us to continue investing in new projects. And as we’re eager to keep bringing you new products… we thank you in advance for your understanding!

Do delivery charges include customs fees ?

No! Please be aware that the delivery charges you pay when placing an order do not include taxes, customs fees, and other additional charges that may occur along the way.

What are the delivery times?

Delivery times vary according to the country of destination and the postal services involved. However, for products in stock, we can guarantee that we’ll dispatch your order within 5 to 7 working days after receiving your payment.

We know it’s a bit long… but we are still a very small organization (find out more about us here), and we prefer to deliver quality orders! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your patience 🙂

For personalized or out-of-stock products, shipping times are longer and depend on suppliers, among other things. In such situations, we will keep you informed by email.

How does the delivery of my order work?

Once you’ve placed an order, we carefully pack your future treasures, then launch the shipping process. You’ll receive a tracking number by e-mail, which will allow you to track your package until it arrives at your doorstep!

My illustration arrived damaged. What should I do?

We do everything in our power to ensure that your illustrations arrive in perfect condition to your doorstep. Unfortunately, parcels can sometimes be mishandled during their journey. If this happens, please contact us via email at shop@megchikhani.com, and we’ll work out a solution together!
